Beeson is pretty rural hamlet just half a mile from the sea at Beesands.  Beesands was once a thriving fishing village and a few fishing boats remain.  Home to Britannia Shell Fish where you can buy Start Bay Crabs and other locally caught fish.  The local pub The Cricket Inn is the focal point of the community,  has a well known restaurant a recommended  stopping off point for lunch when walking the south West Coast Path.  The beach here is very peaceful and dog friendly,   Behind the beach lies Widdicombe Ley where the rare Curl Bunting and numerous waterbirds are  prominent.

This beautiful stretch of unspoilt coastline has clear waters and is a favourite spot for divers and fishermen. Close by are a good selection of sandy beaches and the towns of Dartmouth, Kingsbridge and Salcombe.

This is a very special place for wildlife enthusiasts with the well known Slapton Ley close by but also a large fresh water lake belonging to the farm which attracts a great variety of water birds including the rare Cirl Bunting

Maycombe House Sleeps 6 & Dog

Maycombe House, Beeson is a 200 year old detached, character cottage on the edge of Beeson, a small village surrounded by farmland and only half a mile from Beesands by the sea at Start Bay. There is a lovely, enclosed garden, mainly lawn but with mature shrubs giving lots of colour – it is safe for children or dogs and is home to a large variety of birds. There are fields on two sides where you will see sheep and their lambs in the Spring.
