Kingswear Village is on the Eastern side of the estuary overlooking Dartmouth and impressive Britannia Royal Naval College. Kingswear has a well stocked village shop and Post Office and a selection of pubs. Kingswear is an ideal location for holidays with out a car, there are good transport links to Brixham and Torbay. The heritage steam railway runs seasonally to Paignton, following the river and coast. There are passenger and car ferries across to Dartmouth running all year round.
Kingswear is great for walkers with the South Devon Coastal Footpath and the Dart Valley Trail on the doorstep. Close to Kingswear is Coleton Fishacre House and Gardens once the home of the D'Oyly Carte family, now under the management of the National Trust.
