Shute Cottage is a charming detached cottage tucked away in the centre of Cornworthy. The cottage is only 150 yards from the Hunters Lodge as featured in the 2006 Good Pub Guide. An ideal location between Totnes and Dartmouth, with picturesque riverside walks leading to the villages of Tuckenhay and Ashprington with more fine country pubs. The cottage retains a lot of original features with a very large and interesting lounge with exposed beams and lintels.
The front door opens on to a useful porch which leads to a large lounge with fireplace and woodburning stove, comfy leather sofas, TV, DVD and CD player. Five steps lead up to the dining room/sun lounge with French doors opening on to the garden, the dining room has a modern table and six chairs. From the lounge there are two steps down to the bright modern kitchen with slate floor, a good range of painted wooden units with wooden worktops, electric oven and hob, microwave, Belfast sink, fridge and washing machine. From the lounge there is a curved staircase to the first floor which has three bedrooms furnished with antique pine, two have double beds and one has a single bed. Bathroom, bath with shower over, WC and basin. Outside, the attractive mature garden has views over the village and countryside and lots of sheltered corners to relax in. In the courtyard it has a naturally fed pond and parking for two cars.
