One of the things we love most about Dartmouth is that the town is constantly buzzing with activity no matter what time of year you visit. There are many great events that take place throughout the year and even though it may sound cliched, there really is something for everyone. Next week for example, Dartmouth will play host to the seventh annual comedy festival which takes place at The Flavel and a couple of other venues in town from March 5th to 9th.
Josh Widdicombe kicks off the Comedy Festival on Tuesday March 5th. He is one of the best up-and-coming UK acts and is a regular on Stand Up for the Week (C4) and Live at the Apollo (BBC).
Wednesday March 6th is the popular Mystery Guest night that will surprise festival goers with an evening of entertainment from the Mystery Guest. Nobody yet knows who this will be but previous guests have included Keith Allen, Eddie Izzard, Harry Enfield & Robbie Coltrane.
On Thursday March 7th at the Windjammer you can find stand-up poet Jonny Fluffypunk. Whilst headlining at The Flavel on the same date is the inimitable Virginia Ironside and her Growing Old Disgracefully tour.
The Royal Castle Hotel is the host on Friday March 8th for Jarlath Regan, one of the most prolific Irish humourists of the past ten years.
On Saturday March 9th at 2pm The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre and their hilarious Chunky Woollen Nits will be at the Flavel. Then at 7pm at the Flavel, you can experience The Amazing Mr. Smith a delightfully eccentric comic musician. At 9pm Seann Walsh, star of Stand Up For The Week (C4), Live At The Apollo (BBC) and Argumental (Dave), will be on stage with his razor-sharp observational comedy tour Seann To Be Wild.
If that doesn’t sound like an extraordinary line-up then we don’t know what does!! And what a great way to brighten up the week and bring a smile to your face! If you’re going to the event make sure you let us know what you thought of it over on our Facebook Page
