Grandview really is a beautiful house on 3 floors. We found it to be extremely spacious and very clean, with the most beautiful views of the River Dart, the sea and the countryside. It was very comfortable, well-furnished and attractively decorated. It also had a lovely balcony on the middle floor and a Juliette balcony on the top floor. A real bonus was the parking space for 2 cars in front of the house.
Grandview is quite high up and so the walk into and out of Dartmouth might have been challenging. However, there’s an excellent regular and reliable bus service into town, with bus stops close to the house, so we often used these instead of walking. Also, the buses run quite late in the evenings, so we enjoyed eating out on several occasions, without having to drive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week’s holiday at Grandview and would recommend it, and Dartmouth, as a wonderful place to stay.

The house sits above Dartmouth, giving a panoramic view of the town below from the lounge and one bedroom which is actually a suite taking up the whole of the top floor. Fittings were all good quality and there was nothing lacking. Walking down is only for fit or foolhardy people, as the steepness of the paths is alarming, but to drive down is a doddle and there are many places to park. There are many places to eat and or drink and a variety of good shops. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are booking a return visit for next year, this time taking mattress toppers with us as the hotel quality beds were a bit hard for our ancient bones.

Second visit to this location. It's stunning! The decor is very attractive. It is 3 storey, so be prepared for stairs; but each level is so smart . The ground level is a very smart kitchen and dining area with large sofa. And toilet. The middle level gives you the balcony to overlook Dartmouth to Kingswear and out to sea. Choose sitting outside on the balcony with a glass of wine in the sunshine, enjoying the view which is excellent. Hearing the steam train whistle, before seeing the steam engine chugging into Kingswear station is wonderful. The road is very quiet. As the sun moves round, go into the "back garden " for a little sun trap with picnic table . There is also a sitting area on this level, and an en suite double bedroom. The top floor is a large bedroom with sofa and the same fabulous views. Juliet balcony. Plus ensuite with bath. Take everything you need with you. Lidl and Sainsbury's are just up the road! And albeit very steep walks down and up to town, the buses all pass by the end of the housing and are easily accessible.

We had a fantastic week in Dartmouth the cottage was perfect, modern and spotlessly clean. The cottage is situated high above Dartmouth with a fantastic view. The walk could be a challenge for some but there is a bus stop just around the corner with a very good bus service. We would highly recommend this cottage.

24/08/2024 Hayley 5/5 We first stayed at Grandview in 2019 and typically rebook annually. With having allergies, it’s also a bonus that’s it’s a pet free holiday home. Clean and tidy . We like where the house is situated.

The property is very modern and clean spread over 3 floors with a gorgeous view and off-road parking. All the furniture, fixtures and fittings are in excellent condition, with the added bonus of a coffee machine!
We chose to stay a little outside the centre of Dartmouth, mainly because we had somewhere convenient to park the car. As the car parks we saw in Dartmouth only offer a maximum 4 hour stay, we decided to use public transport - both the Park and Ride and the local buses (a bit of a novelty for us!) and it all worked really well. We had hoped to be able to walk it and did try one day but our mobility is not as good as it was and whilst going down was manageable (the hill is about a 1:5) coming back up was not! This is the only niggle but it was easily overcome by using the excellent public transport.

Great property with fabulous views. Modern, well equipped and immaculately clean. Fabulous harbour and countryside views from all windows. Great having on-site parking. The property is located at the top of a steepish, but perfectly ‘doable’ hill down to the harbour. We walked both ways every day, but there is a bus that runs too. Again, the position provides the great views. Would definitely stay there again

Beautiful house. We loved staying in Grand View. Very comfortable and well designed. The walk down into Dartmouth was enjoyable. The walk back was all uphill so we caught the bus back which dropped us very close to the house. We highly recommend the property. We had a lovely holiday.

As the name implies the setting is amazing from the third story main bedroom down onto the river and the hundreds of moored boats though you are 350 feet above the river which may have its drawbacks for some.

Very clean on arrival, great views. Very steep hill into town but local bus round the corner which was every half hour and reliable solved this. Very comfortable all round.

Really lovely house. Fabulous views. Loved the fact that there were so many places to sit. Very peaceful residential location but small Spar shop only 5 mins walk away. Great bus service back from town if not feeling energetic. Stayed with 2 lots a friends and had some fabulous walks and meals out. Would thoroughly recommend. Thank you .

Fabulous holiday house, great views and lovely quiet area. Dartmouth is a very special and beautiful place to visit, there was also a very good bus service from the house into Dartmouth and back. Would definitely book again.

Lovely modern and clean property. Has everything we need . For us it has the great combination of feeling residential but has views to enjoy. Look forward to staying again .
