Beautiful house in the peaceful village of Dittisham. The house was perfect for a family celebration. The sitting room has large comfortable sofas and we loved the wood burning stove. The kitchen is well equipped and the dining room is spacious with a large table to seat everyone. The house is well furnished and modern. The views over the river are lovely. It was fun to walk to the river to catch the ferry to Dartmouth or go crabbing. We had a wonderful stay at this lovely house and we would love to visit again. Felicity October 2024

"Rocket House is perfect for a family, in our case family plus their partners. Location is just up from the quay which meant we could carry our kayak and paddle board down to the water with ease. The pub is excellent, really friendly with great home made pizzas. Good location for getting to Dartmouth both by car or ferry, also visited Stoke Gabriel a few times both by water and car where there is the lovely River Shack cafe and restaurant. "A beautiful, spacious house with stunning views of the Dart estuary. Large kitchen, dining room and lounge, plenty of room for everyone. Bedrooms very comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor space for bbq's and gathering around the fire pit. Manageable parking for 4 cars. Despite restrictions, enjoyed walking down to the pub and local cafe. Dittisham truly is a Devon gem. Nestled a few miles upstream from Dartmouth, this unspoiled and tranquil village is perfect for a relaxing riverside break and really makes the most of its waterside location. Watersports, fishing, sailing, paddle boarding and leisurely river rides are on your doorstep. Or why not hire a boat and explore the valley at your own pace?
On land, the shoreline meadow makes for a perfect picnic spot. Downstream by the jetty is The Ferry Boat Inn – drink and dine while enjoying picture-perfect views across the river valley beyond. It’s also where you can hire a canoe or kayak and paddle the river’s shallower waters.
Dittisham is also superbly connected by river to the Dart Valley’s must-see villages, towns, and attractions. Year-round frequent ferries take you to the historic port of Dartmouth, picturesque Kingswear and the eclectic charms of Totnes. And, just across the river on the opposite bank, a quick boat trip takes you to Agatha Christie’s resplendent Greenway holiday home and gardens, now cared for by the National Trust, and an idyllic day out.
