Cottages in Coastal Villages
South of Dartmouth is a stunning stretch of coastline heading towards Kingsbridge and Salcombe with superb walks and unspoilt beaches. In Stoke Fleming, we have a handful of properties all within easy walking of The Green Dragon pub, the Radius 7 restaurant and the village shop. Half a mile away is Blackpool Sands (a Blue Flag award-winning beach) – great for watersports, and also the Venus Cafe overlooking the sea – open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The neighbouring cliff-top village of Strete has a lovely village shop, The Laughing Monk restaurant and The Kings Arms. Strete sits between two beaches – the aforementioned Blackpool Sands and Slapton Sands.
Here, there are three miles of shingle beach and Slapton Ley Nature Reserve, a freshwater site of special scientific interest. At the far end of Slapton Sands is Torcross with more places to eat, including The Start Bay Inn for great fish and chips. Close to the hamlet of Beeson is Beesands – home to generations of fishermen. Buy freshly-caught seafood or treat yourself to a meal at The Cricket Inn right on the beachside. East Prawle is a popular village for family holidays, with the sandy beaches of Millbay, Lannacombe, and East Portlemouth just a short drive away.
