Cornworthy and Tuckenhay

Hidden away in its own little valley, close to The River Dart between Totnes and Dittisham, is the village of Cornworthy, The Dart Valley Trail is easily accessible with lovely walks beside the riverbank and surrounding woodland. The Hunters Lodge in the village is a well-known pub, popular with visitors and locals alike for its delicious food. On the edge of the village, standing alone in a field, are the remains of the gatehouse to an Augustinian Priory dating from 1231.


The adjacent village of Tuckenhay is located on the river Dart. Boasting two great riverside pubs – The Maltsters Arms and the Watermans Arms. From Tuckenhay it’s easy to access Sharpham Vineyard and Totnes.

The Maltsters Arms

Located on Bow Creek in the neighbouring village of Tuckenhay, The Maltsters Inn is the perfect spot whether it’s a sunny afternoon out by the water or a post-winter walk on the Dart Valley Trail.

The Watermans Arms

A very traditional pub, always warm and cosy after a long walk along the Dart Valley Trail. Located by Bow Bridge in Tuckenhay, with an outdoor seating area right on the river’s edge.

The Anchorstone Café

Only open from April to October The Anchorstone Café is widely known for its food and its location overlooking the river at Dittisham; a lively fresh menu that includes local seafood.

The Hunters Lodge

In the heart of Cornworthy, the Hunters Lodge is a great local pub, serving great pub food.

The Ferry Boat Inn

Located down on The Quay in the neighbouring village of Dittisham. This waterside pub offers a simple menu in a great location.

The Waterside Bistro

The neighbouring town of Totnes is well known locally for its great food and relaxed atmosphere. Totnes also has a number of great restaurants including ‘Rumours’ and ‘Piestro’.
