If you are looking for more than one property in close proximity to each other, look no further than Dittisham Court in the village of Dittisham. Previously a farm for 400 years, today it’s a selection of homely cottages and barn conversions. Dittisham Court boasts four acres of communal grounds that include an orchard, as well as large grassy spaces with dual vantage points looking over the river and the quayside from one side and over Mill Creek from the other.
The properties on the top row are reverse-level homes to make the most of the river glimpses, whereas the cottages under the arch are more traditional and offer private patio gardens along with access to the orchard. All properties have at least one allocated parking space – either immediately outside or on the grounds.
Dittisham Court is located on Riverside Road immediately adjacent to the church. The Red Lion Inn is a 2-minute walk from all properties, The quayside where you will find the Ferry Boat Inn, Anchorstone Cafe and ferries to Dartmouth and Greenway are a 10-minute walk through the village. The Ham meadow can be accessed from Riverside Road where you will find a grassy playing field and play park as well as access to The Quay via The Lane.
A short walk will take you to the Dart Valley Trail which runs through the village following the River Dart. Heading upstream towards Totnes you will walk along the banks of the river through the lovely villages of Tuckenhay and Cornworthy via the award-winning vineyard at Sharpham. Alternatively, the trail follows the river downstream to Dartmouth. From Dartmouth, it’s possible to take a circular route using the ferries to Kingswear to continue walking to Greenway or straight back to Dittisham on the Dittisham Ferry.
