Visiting South Devon at Easter? We’re sure you’ll have an egg-cellent time! Here are some of the events happening in South Devon over Easter 2020.

Don’t forget that the Easter school holidays in Devon run from Saturday 28 March until Monday 13 April 2020, which is earlier than some other parts of the UK. Expect local attraction opening days to reflect this.

Dinosaur egg hunt at Crealy

Head to Crealy Theme Park for a Jurassic egg hunt. Find dino eggs and exchange your discoveries for a chocolate treat. Check the park’s website to find out which rides and attractions are open over the school holidays.

Bunny grotto at Woodlands

Meet the Easter Bunny at in his special grotto at Woodlands Family Theme Park. There will also be an Easter egg hunt, entertainment and animal activities during the school holidays. Check the park’s website to see which rides and attractions are open.

Penguin Pebble Trail at Living Coasts

The Living Coasts aquarium in Torquay will be launching a new trail at Easter – the Penguin Pebble Trail. Find all 17 of the brightly coloured pebbles to win a prize. Each pebble represents a different species of these adorable flightless birds, some of which you can meet during your visit.

The Great Big Brick Safari at Paignton Zoo

LEGO® fans will love the new trail coming to Paignton Zoo from Easter. More than 80 giant wild animal models have been constructed using over 1 million LEGO® bricks! Follow the trail around the zoo while meeting its regular and equally charming residents.

Meet baby farm animals at Pennywell

Easter is a busy time for the team at Pennywell Farm who have been welcoming plenty of new Spring arrivals. Meet them over the Easter holidays. There will also be Easter egg hunts and family entertainment in the barn over the Easter weekend.

Tudor tales at Powderham Castle

Hear tales from Tudor times at Powderham Castle – the seat of the Earl of Devon. Historian and storyteller Dave Tonge will be entertaining families over the Easter weekend.

Easter egg trail at Babbacombe Model Village

Search the miniature scenes and models at Babbacombe to find 20 hidden eggs. Spot them all and you can claim a prize. Visit on a Thursday and you can see the model village illuminated from dusk.

National Trust Easter egg hunts

UPDATE: the National Trust is closing paid entry properties, cafes and shops from Friday 20 March 2020. Many of its parks and gardens will remain open for free during COVID-19 restrictions. Check the National Trust website for more information.

You’ll find the National Trust’s Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts happening at several venues across South Devon. Find the chocolatey trails at Greenway, Coleton Fishacre, Saltram and Buckland Abbey.
